Alaska seemed further away than ever last spring. We had been stuck in Mammoth all season with a record breaking snowfall which had closed the roads out. And the old adage hung in our minds, “Don't leave good surf in search of better surf.” But it was possibly the last year of Tailgate Alaska and we had made such a bond with Thompson Pass and the community that congregates there in the spring. So we decided to send it.

Meet Parker Gokey! He is the Terrain Park Manager at Sugar Bowl Resort, a husband/father/family man and has been an Elevated Ambassador since 2019. He first discovered Elevated Surf Craft through Brian Jimenez and Che Contour at Mt. Ashland, Oregon on his way to the Big Wave Challenge in Mount Bachelor. Then he ran into Aaron Sababba at the event and after chatting for hours wanted to become part of the stoke perpetuated by these boards.

Designed by femaleriders, the goal for the snowboard was to develop a vessel for an efficient and enjoyable riding experience in powder and on groomers. Here is how the Minni Fish came to be.

For winter athletes of all levels, physical fitness is essential for a good time on the slopes. Snowboarders, snowsurfers and all athletes in particular are prone to a wide range of injuries, ranging in severity from bone bruises and sprains to fractures, dislocations or even concussions. Understandably, new snowboarders are always on the lookout for a means to improve their performance in the snow.
