The Swell arrived to Mountain High, bringing a fresh dusting of snow. So many great people and new friendly faces joined our community of snow surfers to ride the frozen wave park at our first ever Snowsurf Expression Session.
Instead of a competitive contest with divisions and judging, an expression session meant to be a fun event showcasing surfstyle snowboarding and performance where riders will elevate each other collectively and standout performers will receive prizes.
Demo boards were passed out as everybody met each other between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.. The course opened at about 10:30 a.m. and the conditions were clean and glassy. Momentum was casual, and riders dropped in freely. Taking their time and making their way down the faces of the waves clean fluid lines of bottom turns, cutbacks and slashes with a bit of offshore breeze. Snowsurfer watched and learned from each other, tried different boards and explored the style of snow surfing. The day ended with a group party wave, followed by a giveaway presented by Kona Big Wave. The Stoke in the energy was high, and everyone left with a smile on their face.
